and now.....We're having a baby!

I guess I can make it official. I was keeping it under wraps for the first 3 months, just in case. Just in case...it didn't work out or something. I think I was really in shock and still am a little. But yes, I am in week 15 and feeling better finally.

Weeks 5-12 were a bit rough. Super tired. Bad headaches and constant nausea. So, now I am feeling much better so that's a relief. Richard and I were really surprised by the news. For some reason I was convinced that it might not happen or take much longer. Surprise! We are so blessed.

We were test proof positive on Oct 25th which was Richard's 37th birthday. So, I wrapped up the test with baby booties and cap and gave it to him as a present. He was beyond shocked. How? When? Really? What? Crying, hugging the whole works. He is very excited and impatient. 9 months can be a long time, but I think it's good to have time to adjust in so many ways.

So, it has brought many thoughts and idea and questions about the future. As I don't have health insurance in the US and our lives are here. The baby will be born in Peru. But, yes be both Peruvian and American. It just takes a ton of paperwork in the first 30 days.

Both families are very happy to welcome another child to the family and of course everyone is wondering the gender. Both families have granddaughters. We are very content with whatever we receive. It's all still overwhelming. So many changes. Be careful what you wish for....you might not know what to do when it comes true.

So, the baby is due around July 4th. We have many birthdays in June in both families and none in July so we'll have to see which club he/she joins. My birthday is June 20th so I'll just be turnign 37. It is a little odd to be an older mom. Not that I feel old, but that so many younger friends have babies, even my former youth ministry "kids" so I'm late to the party, but happy of course.

So, we'll keep everyone updated. Thanks for the love and support you have shown.
