S America- Coming to an End

Hello Everyone. I know that I have been much more delinquent in writing this time. I am not sure why, but I have had less disposable time on my hands. Which has been a good thing.

I am now back in Peru. I will be making my way back to Lima on Sunday and then leave directly for Washington DC. So another 7 weeks have gone by. I can´t believe how they have passed it seems forever since I was at Machu Picchu. The time has been rich and full and passed slowly.

I think the good thing is I have been with people more this time and covered much less territory than before. So I am not as worn out. The past week I have been staying with a friend, Richard Zavaleta in Ilo. He is the nephew of the family I was staying with last time I was here. We have been having a great time. It is much more fun to see a place with a local. Here I definitely stand out. I get a ton of looks every time I step out onto the street. This is not a tourist destination and there are not many if any Americans. I never get used to it. I haven´t done a lot of anything specifically in the way of amazing places to visit, but rather immersed myself in rich people and community, which has been wonderful.

So the plan is that I will go back to stay with my wonderful friends the McCarty´s for about 5 days until I leave for Africa. My parents are goign to be in the area so I will get to spend an evening and possibly a day with the family. That will be a treat for sure. Then on Feb 23rd I am on my way to Rwanda. I will be there about 5 weeks. Then to Kenya. I am still planning to go to Kenya. I haven´t had information or an intuition that I should do otherwise yet. So I will see for myself what is going on and help in any way I am able. Of course your prayers are appreciated.
