Greetings all,
I have finally heard back from the doctor. As I thought, he is not totally sure. He is still a bit vague with the inflammation that he saw etc. but they did find a bacteria of some sort that could be the culprit. I have not tried this area yet. So I will be on antibiotics for the next month or more. We'll see if this clears it up. With all the international traveling I have done the past 15 years, it could be anything, but who knows.
He has cleared me to travel, so I shall see what comes of everything. But at least the symptoms are a bit better for now.
I have changed my plans and I will be returning to S. America again on Friday March 7th. It is a great part of the world and I didn't feel I had enough time there. There is still much to see and experience. In addition, I want to spend more time with the great guy I met there, Rich Zavaleta. I also feel called to do some volunteering and work on my Spanish more intensely. I do very well, but I'd like to get to that next level and it really helps to be immersed in the culture. I also want to work on spirituality and some other issues that I can do with the Jesuits in the area. So, I am going to continue on this journey, just a bit differently than I expected. Always open for a course correction. I have been working on meditation practices and it has helped me be more centered and focused.
So for the time being. I will be in Peru, mostly likely the small fishing port of Ilo again. I will still be in email contact etc as before. Thanks again for the calls, emails, prayers and support during the past few weeks. It was a huge blessing to me during this time. Also a huge thanks to Bob and Maggie for their generosity of letting me stay much longer than expected to get this health bit worked out. I hope this works! It is no fun when an attack starts again.
Here's to living life to the fullest with conviction and authenticity,
Laura
