Photos and Daily Life

It is now May. I have been here 2 months. It seems much longer, but not in a bad way. It is an adjustment. I am still figuring out how to manage everything. It´s about a 10 minute walk to the market to buy something and it is still a maze of craziness to find what I need. I now have a kitchen to cook in and that has added an entirely new level of insanity. First, cooking what I know or learning to cook new recipes. But the bigger challenge is buying the food. It is a great challenge to go to the outdoor market on Monday´s. It´s where everyone does the week´s shopping. The names of things, the quanity. It´s quite the experience, but mostly fun, at least for now.

Here are some recent photos of Mother´s day. Richard planned and cooked breakfast for his parents, grandmother and Aunt. I guess this was a huge deal, becuase it has never happened before and the sight of him in an apron got huge hugs and applause for me. They think I had something to do with it. Really, I think he liked it! He just never had the opportunity before. Anyway, more to write soon.

There are also some fun photos of a cake I won in a drawing at a local sandwich and juice shop! It was a total surprise and a big hit! You just never know.
