The Announcement

The message written on the whiteboard in the dining room when I came back.
The bouquet of roses waiting for me too! (I am a very blessed woman. He even cleaned the whole house and changed the sheet! Now tell me he is not a keeper.)

So, I made it back to Ilo after a long journey. It was great and absence did make the heart grow fonder. Richard definitely missed me and I came back to a more dedicated man. So now marks one year since I quit BK and left the USA on my big sabbatical and things could not be better or more different.

I will write later on my reflections on the year and how I personally have changed. But for those like John Lacey who want the bullet points.....here you go.

I am no officially engaged to be married to Richard Zavaleta Casillas.

It is wild and wonderful. No lavish proposal yet or ring. But I think there is more to come in that area. I´m okay with that part. I´m letting go of the American ideal of engagements. Anyway, we are thinking about next summer!

It will be here in Peru so his family can attend and for the time being we will be living in Peru. I am working on selling my house. There are still many details and many options to go. I didn´t leave looking for love, but it found me and it seems perfect. God is so good and I am blessed that so many have supported me on this journey.

So, for those of you who thought I was crazy thinking I was going to marry him after the first week of meeting him.......I guess we are both surprised. Sometimes these things work out. It is definitely right for both of us. We will have changes ahead, but we will work through them as we can! So, yea.....and then I caught the bouquet....so Richard says now he has no escape. He has to do it. Too wild, especially how it changed course and came right at me. It was too crazy.
