My parents and Fr. Mark and his wife StacyGreetings faithful family and friends and Sabbatical Supporters,
I hope this finds you well and enjoying the summer. I have had a very full month. I started in Boise the first week and spent a few fun days with my neices while my brother worked on all getting into their new house in Spokane. Then I flew to Spokane with the girls and spent a few days there. It was great to spend time with my brother and get to see him upon his return to the glorious NW. Then I flew directly to Seattle where I was able to catch up with a few friends and enjoy the beauty of Seattle summer!
Then I came back to Boise where I worked on selling the large furniture items that were in storage and my lovely Saturn. A major milestone for sure to let go of all the furniture that was in my house and the car I've had for 12 years. But life is about letting go and so I have......let go.

So, yes it appears I may be making some more permanent changes in the future. I have now downsized to a smaller storage facility and I packed 2 large boxes with things I thought I would want/need in Peru. Mainly winter clothes, as I will be going back to winter and a few kitchen items and other randomn items.......flannel sheets!!!
Anyway, I was able to spend my last week in Boise with some great friends and the time went way way too fast and packing took more time than I would have liked. After living out a backpack for a year, I was used to living without much of anything and coming back it was overwhelming realizing how much stuff I have accumulated.....way too much. Anyway, I packed what I thought I would want/need into 2 60" boxes that have been traversing the country with me and still have more to go. It will be interesting to see how they look after 5 plane flights and a bus.

Anyway, July 30 I left for Orlando, FL for the ICCEC Convocation (International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church). It is a gathering that takes place every 4 years. There were 1,000 plus in attendance from all over the world. It was a wondering time of learning, worshipping and spending quality time with my parents, who were also attending. We arrived a day early and went to the Blue Man Group at Universal Studios. It was fantastic entertainment.
If you'd like to hear some fantastic homilies from Archbishop Bates and excellent teachings from the main speaker, Dr. Chan on convergence worship, I strongly encourage you to follow this link below. You can listen to the sessions online or download them to listen on an ipod. The sermon from Friday Eucharist is an excellent look at what the ICCEC is about and Dr. Chan's sessions are extremely interesting from a systematic theologian who is looking at this concept of convergance worship and what liturgy. The sessions on Thurs are more foundational theologicially on the nature of liturgy and Friday is more practical on what contitutes a good liturgy. So........ for those of you still wondering what in the world I'm involved with these days, this is a good look at the ICCEC direct from the new patriarch. Or if you just want to increase your own spiritual and theological knowledge. . See http://cechome.com/
Okay so today I flew from Orlando to DC where my gracious friend Ela picked me up. I will be in DC with friends until I leave on Wednesday for Lima. Then when I get to Lima I will be there for a few days with Richard's brother and his family. Then finally I will make the last leg of my journey back to Ilo. The downside is it will involve a 17 hour bus ride. So needless to say. I am a little travel weary, but I shall survive. I am looking forward to being back in Peru.
If you're still confused as to what is going on with me and Peru and the whole situation........Love, love, love all ya need is love. As I mentioned before, Imet a wonderful Peruvian man, Richard Zavaleta, and it has become serious. Long story short, it makes more sense for me to live there where his work and his family is and so that is what I am going to be doing. We'll see what happens from there. I'll be tutoring English privately to when I get back and then we'll see where it goes from there. So yes, it's been a wild year. A wonderful year. It seems like it's been much longer. I have enjoyed every step of it. I'll write later more indepth about what I have learned, if you'd like to know or as John Lacey says, where is the bullet point version. I'll work on that for those of you who don't want to read all my crazy thoughts.
