It's almost been a month since I departed Boise. It seems longer in ways and shorter too. I'm going to go with....just right. Last weekend I was in New York City visiting my friend Darcy. I took 3.5 hours to get to the city and then another 45 minutes to make it to their apartment after I missed a critical exit and I had to brave the Holland tunnel traffic, which was not unlike driving in Mexico. I was thankful for my catlike reflexes and keen ability to shove my way into a lane without damage to the vehicle. It was an adventure to say the least and entertaining as well.
The weather was spectacular and we took a walk to Central Park, which is right near their place. On the way we encountered a German-American parade with people seriously tricked out in some sweet outfits. It was great to be around religious and cultural diversity again. We had a great spot to talk in the park and soak in the great day and ended with a nice Thai dinner. Darcy is due in January with their first child, a girl. It was wonderful to spend time with her before this great blessing arrives.
On a sad note, my yoga class was cancelled. Long story, but it involves bureaucracy of course. So, I'm bummed about that, but I'll recover.
