It now appears I have invitations to visit Rwanda and Kenya. I recently heard from the bishops of both these countries and they have graciously invited me to share in their communities.
So, I guess I'm making plans to traverse the Atlantic back to Africa. It is quite a coincidence that it is the two countries I have already visited, but it will be good to return and hopefully spend more time seeing new sights and new people. I was only in Kenya for 4 days for a safari and my Rwanda experience with CRS was wonderful, but didn't allow for plan deviations.
With these gracious open doors I am hoping to see if it will be possible to also visit Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania and possibly Sudan. Time will tell. I'm trying not to be too set with my itinerary so that I can be flexible for things that present themselves. Openness takes a lot of effort I am learning. It really is a conscious choice. It's easy to overbook, overcommit and fulfill the inclination to have everything planned out (this would be good for you to practice dad). It's harder to leave open space to allow the spontaneous and unexpected to arrive.
So possibly around March I will be heading to my beloved Africa. I am also tossing around the idea of ending up in Israel and Turkey afterward possibly. I have always wanted to visit these holy places and now is as good a time as any. I'd love to be able to walk amidst all the places I've been teaching about for all these years. I know that much of the commericialism and the claims to be "the original site" of this or that will be there, but I plan to look past it for a deeper song from history.
I'm in PA for 3 more weeks and then off to visit my second family at Monte Maria in Tijuana. I'll keep you updated.

Laura, I am so proud that you are following and growing in God's amazing path. Just to jump in his arms takes a lot of trust and faith.
You are in my prayers. I appreciate the fact that you are aware of your tendency to get tooooo busy with a lot of really great things.
Take time slowly make yourself healthy. Lean on him always. Wait for his quiet voice.
Lisa started her new job:) pray for her that God will be heard in her life and that she will obey him. She is still somewhat lost as to
Isn't it interesting that it may take just as much work to be open and flexible as to have it "all nailed down" and "everything planned out"? I am SO confident your journey of going against the usual grain of being "busy" and "productive" (and therefore "valuable" and "contributing") will be productive in the Lord and allow you to see Him in new and amazing ways (even if it is in a still small voice). Fun to be a prayer partner with you on this adventure! Have you made any decisions re: the book (speaking of prayer for you)?
love you! darcy
