Okay, so I got my bag at the airport the next day, and I made it to Cusco. It is a lovely city for certain. I am enjoying my stay here emmensely. I wish I had planned to stay longer. I stayed in Ninos Hotel the first night. It was a splurge, but it goes to help support local childrens programming etc and it was a wonderful place. I am at a cheaper place tonight with my friend Carola, who I met in Panama. We just happen to be in the same place at the same time. It is great. The only sad thing is I left my one and only and perfect for traveling microfleece jacket in the cab on the way to the airport. I dont function well in the morning it seems. I have been averaging 4 to 5 hours a night for the past few. Not so good, but I got a great nap today. I bought a nice alpaca wool sweater because it is very cold here. I also got a nice hat and gloves today.
Ive mainly been walking around Cuzco the past 2 days enjoyign this lovely old city. Tomorrow I go on a tour of the Sacred Valley Ruins via bus and then a train to Aguas Caliente, the town nearest Machu Picchu, where I will spend the night at Rupa Wasi Condor House Eco Lodge http://www.rupawasi.net/ingles/principal.html. It looks fantastic! Check out the link. Then I will wake early for my visit to the ancient Inca site before the other hordes of tourist and take the afternoon train back to Cuzco. It is insane how many tourists are here and it is the low season. The cheap tickets for the train were booked days in advance and sold out. Anyway, I think it will be worth the high cost. the elevation here is 11000 feet. so i didnt climatize slowly, but i{m doing okay with the altitude. i just feel a little tired anda few muscle aches, but otherwise good. It gets really cold here too, especially at night, but I had 4 wool blankets and a small heater (what a crazy luxury). We will see how I fare tonight.

Love to all of you from one of the ancientwonders of the world. The map of Peru will give you an idea of where I am.
